Neutral Undertone: Find Useful Colors Without Forcing a Warm or Cool Label
Neutral is a useful cosmetic description when neither a strongly pink nor a strongly golden shade seems to match. It is not a measured halfway point, and liking both gold and silver does not prove it. You can use a neutral foundation while preferring vivid clothing, deep colors or mixed metals.
Neutral does not mean muted
Temperature and color intensity answer different questions. A foundation described as neutral does not restrict you to Soft Summer or Soft Autumn, nor require dusty clothing. Compare muted and vivid versions of a similar color before making a decision about intensity.

Leave space for uncertainty
If your comparisons change with the lighting, record that before choosing neutral as the answer. If both fabrics work, you can keep both. A useful wardrobe preference does not need to become a precise percentage of warm versus cool.
