What is a Natural?
Pure Natural was one of the original 13 Kibbe body types but was removed from the official system in 2021 when David Kibbe decided no one sits perfectly in the middle of the yin/yang spectrum. Today, former Naturals are classified as either Soft Natural (yin-softened) or Flamboyant Natural (yang-sharpened). If you tested as a Pure Natural, the current guidance is to re-test on the yin/yang dimension: identify whether your flesh is soft and rounded (you are Soft Natural) or lean and athletic (you are Flamboyant Natural). We keep this page because the term still appears across older books, TikTok, and Reddit.
Essence: Earthy, Relaxed, Athletic, Approachable.

| Features | Broad open face, wide smile, blunt features. |
| Limbs | Moderately long, blunt ends. |

Natural — frequently asked
- Is Pure Natural still a Kibbe body type? +
- No. David Kibbe officially removed Pure Natural, Pure Classic, and Pure Gamine from the system in 2021. Today there are 10 official types — but the term "Natural" still appears in older books and community resources.
- What should I do if I tested as a Pure Natural? +
- Re-test on the yin/yang axis. Look at your flesh: if it is soft and gently rounded, you are Soft Natural. If it is lean and athletically muscled, you are Flamboyant Natural. Every former Natural fits into one of those two.
- Why did Kibbe remove Pure Natural? +
- Kibbe concluded that no one sits perfectly 50/50 on the yin/yang spectrum — every body leans slightly one way. Maintaining "Pure" midpoint types was leading to mis-classifications, so he folded them into their yin-leaning or yang-leaning counterparts.
- How do I know if I am Soft Natural or Flamboyant Natural? +
- Look at your flesh, not your frame. Both have broad blunt shoulders. Soft Natural has softly rounded flesh with visible curves. Flamboyant Natural has lean, athletic, taut flesh with a boyish silhouette.
- Are any celebrities still labeled Pure Natural? +
- Most older sources cite Jennifer Aniston or Lauren Hutton as Natural — modern consensus puts them in Soft Natural. Treat any "Pure Natural" celebrity label as legacy.
- Can the Pure Natural style recommendations still work? +
- Partially — Natural-family essentials (relaxed tailoring, organic textures, earthy colors) still apply. But the full styling needs to lean yin or yang depending on your specific flesh type.
- Where can I find the new Kibbe test? +
- David Kibbe's official updated test is available through his platform; community-created versions exist on Reddit and Pinterest. Any test you take should now offer Soft Natural or Flamboyant Natural — not Pure Natural.
- Is "Natural" a Kibbe family or a type? +
- Both. "Natural" is one of five Kibbe families (Dramatic, Natural, Classic, Gamine, Romantic). The family contains Soft Natural and Flamboyant Natural as its two current types — Pure Natural was the former third type.
