How does your face length compare with its width?

Look straight ahead, with hair clear of the outline. Compare the middle of the hairline to the chin with the widest cheekbone span. Use a mirror or a photo taken from farther away; a close selfie can change proportions.

How does this face shape detector work?

Photo mode asks AI to estimate four visible proportions, which you can review and correct. The guided mode uses your own observations without uploading a photo. Both compare confirmed observations using styling rules and can leave the result open when too little is clear.

Can I have more than one face shape?

You may recognize features from several categories. Use the references that help you describe your forehead, cheeks, jaw and length; you do not need a perfect label to choose a style you enjoy.

Why do I look different in a selfie?

Camera distance changes how facial proportions appear. A close photo can give a different impression from a more distant one, even when the pictures are displayed at the same size. Keep your viewing setup consistent when comparing.

What happens to my uploaded face photo?

With your consent, photo mode sends a resized image to Google AI. This mode does not save the photo or result in our database. Remove clears the tab, but cannot recall a request already sent. See the privacy policy for processing details. The guided questions need no upload.
